PCC is a Chilean trio formed in 2022 that explores the frontiers of ambient, experimental, and minimalist electronic music with a focus on cutting-edge production. The group unites the creative forces of sound artist Jimmy Pizarro (aka INSECTO/SPRO), versatile musician, producer, and renowned guitarist Juan Pablo Candia, and engineer, musician, and recognized DJ Hans Carstens. Together, they engage in a free and spontaneous creative process, brought to life by these three friends whose formidable musical backgrounds converge in the pursuit of a natural and honest expression—one that aspires to a distinct sonic identity. Their debut album, »p/n-oise«, is an exploratory and spontaneous journey through the heady and introspective inertia of modern ambient, fused with a mutable pulse that oscillates between hypnotic stillness and bursts of rhythmic intensity. The music unfolds through dense layers of lush harmonics propelled by meticulously crafted dub-style basslines, all wrapped in processed guitars that evoke a crepuscular, atmospheric mood. Rhythmic patterns shift seamlessly between slow cadences and accelerated precision, creating a continuous interplay of electronically sophisticated arrangements. The result is a meditative, organic, unsettling, intellectually probing, and deeply reflective experience. »p/n-oise« is released as a limited edition of 40 double-CD copies, featuring two hours of immersive audio in a luxurious eco-friendly cardboard sleeve with spot color printing, a metallic label with the data printed on the back and full-color printed inner sleeves. Artwork and mastering by AU.
»p/n-oise« emerged from pure improvisation and live recording across two sessions by PCC in early 2025, sessions that unfolded without the slightest preconception regarding their outcome. On the contrary, what arose is a work defined by radical spontaneity and creative freedom, clearly rooted in the musical backgrounds of its members. Of the nine tracks that make up »p/n-oise«, some are lengthy while others are shorter. In some, the spotlight is taken by pads of precious textures that blend with precise bass lines, while the guitar’s timbre ignites the journey. In others, rhythm adds to the sonic mantra, providing dynamics and greater prominence to the pulse. »p/n-oise« is the result of a free and spontaneous exercise, brought to life by a trio of friends with solid musical backgrounds, united in the search for a natural, honest expression that aspires to a distinct sonic identity. The album opens with <ARNEST>, an expansive, enveloping, and emotionally profound introduction—like a high-speed train journey through desolate landscapes, where acceleration is such that gravity seems to dissolve, immersing the listener in a beautifully nebulous, deeply absorbing atmosphere. Track two, <NDIARSO>, unfolds as a skein of well-controlled drones, with the guitar assuming a leading role—pristine and organic. Yet, the journey soon takes an unexpected turn: a complex, detail-rich rhythm in the clicks’n cuts tradition emerges, evolving with new timbral nuances and warm, textured layers that drift from the track’s initial motif and, alongside the clear-cut guitar riffs, evoke a peaceful feeling of joy. The incandescence of the third track, <RSTANO>, reveals warm tones atop a crackling, reverberant matrix, wrapped in a mantra steeped in romanticism. The first CD closes on an eclectic note with <RROSETH>, cloaked in cushioned harmonies, lingering echoes, and processed guitar that seeks to penetrate deeply, while repetitive rhythmic patterns induce a gentle hypnosis. This is a nonlinear journey, gradually revealing its sweet secrets. The second CD opens electrifyingly with <ADNDIAEL>: static rooted in a velvety pad, a dub-infused, contoured bassline flirting with a perfectly saturated guitar riff. As the track evolves, sharp hi-hats emerge, adding rich nuance to the sonic tapestry. Notably, the pitch dynamics employed at key moments achieve a singular beauty—a true gem. Track six, <ARNSTI>, is simply profoundly emotional: a long, wordless story unfolding in several acts—sublime in every sense. Track seven, <DIARVEK>, stands out for its brilliance and dreamlike atmosphere, crafting a deep, silky harmonic soundscape. The construction of textures is solid, balancing clarity and warmth; the bass and low frequencies provide perfectly controlled depth, while the higher notes add a delicate shimmer, enveloping the listener in an almost ethereal environment. Track eight, <STERNIQ>, conjures an epic, nearly romantic mood, Where the hypnotic, cozy beds of synth harmonics, combined with the spaces between guitar notes, stretch the entire soundscape toward an otherworldly sensation—pure magic. Finally, track nine, <RSTENA>, closes the album with electronic artifacts that, despite their synthetic nature, retain enough warmth to enrich the sonic palette. Despite the inevitable imperfections of improvisation, everything in »p/n-oise« feels perfectly placed, measured, and balanced—leaving, after a complete listening experience, a profound inner calm. Undoubtedly, this is music for the soul. If your neural fibers resonate with the volatile experiments of LOSCIL, GRAMM, MORITZ VON OSWALD TRIO, BOWERY ELECTRIC, GAS or PAN AMERICAN, rest assured: »p/n-oise« will vibrate on your frequency.
